Full Proposal Checks

What is a Full Proposal Check (FPC)?

Approximately one month before the respective call deadline, Ideal-ist offers proposers the opportunity to get feedback on their proposal from experienced evaluators. The FPC happens in the following manner

  1. The FPC task leader sets up an online platform to manage the FPC. This can start before the respective call opens.
  2. Around call opening, known experts and NCPs are invited to join the platform and NCPs are encouraged to name further experts they know to have been involved in evaluations in Horizon Europe Cluster 4 in the past.
  3. Shortly after call opening, we start to advertise the FPC publicly through the Ideal-ist communication channels and you are encouraged to advertise it also in your national networks.
  4. Coordinators of proposals can submit their drafts on the FPC platform up until a certain deadline.
  5. By the time the registration closes, all registered FPC participants also need to indicate their availability and contact details for the week of the FPC sessions.
  6. Directly after the registration deadline, experienced NCPs will be asked to look at the submitted proposal drafts and assess their completeness. This is done via the FPC platform. Proposal drafts should be roughly 80% complete to make them suitable for an FPC session. Less complete proposal drafts are difficult to assess properly for the experts.
  7. The FPC task leader assigns two experts to each sufficiently complete proposal draft. They can access the draft in the FPC platform and have some days to prepare their feedback.
  8. The FPC task leader assigns FPC sessions according to the availabilities indicated in the portal.
  9. FPC sessions take place during a single week approx. 4 weeks before the call deadline. Experts give oral feedback to the coordinators and discuss their questions with them. NCPs moderate and record these sessions and also have the opportunity to join as silent observers (as a training exercise for them).

You can find out more by looking at one of the NCP briefings for the Full Proposal Check. If you have any questions on this activity, you can contact the FPC task leader or the proposer services work package leader. You can find both of them in the Who is Who Guide.
