Ideal-ist's proposal check events offer a chance to improve the quality of project proposals based on feedback from experienced external experts and national contact points (NCPs) at various stages of the proposal development process. These events aim to transfer useful knowledge and increase proposers' chances for funding.
For the April 2020 deadlines, Ideal-ist is offering proposal checks on two separate occasions.
1. Proposal idea checks for robotics topics at ERF (4-5 March 2020)
As a special service for the Robotics community, in collaboration with euRobotics, Ideal-ist is offering a combined Proposal Idea Check/Full Proposal Check in 2 steps.
Ideal-ist is holding a proposal idea check (step 1) during the European Robotics Forum (ERF). The ERF 2020 will take place in Malaga (Spain) from 3 - 5 March 2020. The idea check sessions will take place on 4-5 March. At ERF you can receive feedback in bilateral discussions on your early stage ideas from two experienced NCPs.
The 2-step process is available for the following topics:
- ICT-46-2020: Robotics in Application Areas and Coordination & Support
- ICT-47-2020: Research and Innovation boosting promising robotics applications
- DT-ICT-09-2020 - Boost rural economies through cross-sector digital service platforms
- DT-ICT-12-2020 - AI for the smart hospital of the future
To structure the discussion with NCPs, it is recommended that you bring an early draft and/or fill Ideal-ist's Pre-Proposal Check form (this step is not mandatory).
Proposals that go through this Proposal Idea Check will be offered priority for the in-depth Full Proposal Checks (step 2, see below).
2. Full Proposal Checks for all ICT topics (2-3 April 2020)
At full proposal check (FPC) events you will receive in-depth feedback from experienced Horizon 2020 evaluators and National Contact Points on your advanced proposal drafts.
Ideal-ist is organising a full proposal check event in Vienna on 2-3 April. The event will cover ALL ICT topics with an April 2020 deadline (see details below).
Registration / Application / Selection of participants
Expressions of interest can be submitted by the coordinators through the online registration form:
https://forms.gle/7sGoJyXUxvQAWCUp8
Registration for both events is currently open. You may register for one or both of the events.
This service is offered free of charge by Ideal-ist.
There are a limited number of slots for these events, so early applications are encouraged!
Proposers who apply to participate at the event go through a case-by-case selection process. After their expression of interest via an online form, they will be contacted in the following days to assess the degree of completion of their proposals. Short-listed candidates will be invited based on the available places and the submission of a final draft of their proposal.
- The deadline for expression of interest is 20 March 2020.
- The deadline for sending the final draft that will be reviewed will be 27 March 2020.
Procedure
Proposal Idea Check at the ERF (March): If you apply for the ERF event, you will be sent a confirmation.
Full Proposal Check (April): If you apply for the FPC, you will be contacted by phone for a short interview, after which you will receive your attendance confirmation and further details on how to submit your proposal.
On-site attendants
Interested proposers will provide a good first draft of their proposal for the selected ICT call topic (see the list below) and receive qualified feedback from experienced evaluators immediately during the proposal check session.
It will be possible to receive additional consulting by experienced NCP staff.
Remote attendants
Ideal-ist will offer a remote evaluation for selected participants. Experienced evaluators will sit in Vienna and meet with proposers online. The remote nature will require that proposals are sent electronically.
Who can attend?
The event will support proposals for ICT calls under H2020, with a deadline in April 2020. Admission to the event is for the coordinator (i.e. one person, mandatory) plus one representative from a project partner institution (i.e. one optional person). In exceptional cases, the coordinator may name a proxy to attend.
All participating experts and national contact points have signed a confidentiality declaration.
